Current Opportunity
We are currently seeking an Approvals Specialist to join our team, on a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
In this role you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering external approvals required to enable Senex’s coal seam gas operations located in the Surat Basin. This includes tenement management, project approvals and Cultural Heritage management.
The key accountabilities of the position include:
- The preparation and management of all tenement related activities, including but not limited to, new applications, renewals, tenders, overlapping tenure holders, reporting and other notifications and compliance requirements
- Co-ordination of Cultural Heritage clearances and inductions with multiple Cultural Heritage groups
- Prepare and submit all Local Council related applications
- Prepare and manage all third-party approvals including infrastructure crossings
- Direct liaison with Local Councils and Government Departments to resolve any tenement, compliance and/or approvals issues
- Administrating compliance activities including managing the compliance tracking system
- Assisting with the management of all permits and approvals held by Senex, ensuring compliance with all applicable legislative and regulatory requirements
- Assist with regulatory and cultural heritage payments
- Ability to clearly communicate complex regulatory requirements in clear and concise terms to multiple internal stakeholders and functions including Project Teams (wells & gathering and infrastructure), Production, Operations, Legal etc
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 4+ years’ experience gained from working within resource sector, planning, regulatory compliance or other related field. Preferably with experience in tenement, land, approvals or similar
- Demonstrated experience working with both internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail with ability to juggle multiple conflicting priorities is essential
- Demonstrated analytical, evaluation and reporting experience
- Ability to work autonomously and interact with a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external to the business
- Working knowledge within the Queensland CSG regulatory and legislative landscape is ideal, but not essential
