Current Opportunity

 

We are seeking a GIS Officer (Environment) to join our Brisbane based team. This role focuses on supporting environmental assessment and compliance requirements across the business. You will play a key part in producing maps, figures, and tracking disturbance and compliance activities to assist the Environment team. Your work will ensure accurate spatial data management and reporting to meet internal and external regulatory obligations.

 

Key accountabilities will include:

 

  • Managing proposed and actual disturbance data, including metadata tagging as per government schemes
  • Tracking transitional and final rehabilitation within the GIS database
  • Managing ground-truthed ecological datasets from consultants
  • Generating spatial data for biodiversity offset requirements based on development footprints
  • Monitoring disturbance against legislated limits within EA’s and EPBC Approvals
  • Producing maps and reports to demonstrate compliance internally and externally.

 

About You

 

You are a detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in GIS and environmental data management.  You will bring:

 

  • Proficiency in the ArcGIS suite (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Field Maps, ArcGIS Server) and experience maintaining, updating, and analysing environmental spatial data
  • Familiarity with key environmental GIS datasets such as Regional Ecosystems, disturbance tracking, and Plans of Operations
  • Ability to produce GIS data submissions for regulatory compliance and generate mapping products to support environmental assessments
  • Tertiary qualifications in environment or spatial science-related fields
  • Strong capability in processing field survey data and managing ecological datasets, with an understanding of biodiversity offset requirements.
