Current Opportunity

 

Reporting to the Head of Health & Safety, the successful candidate will provide guidance, support and solutions to the wider team on matters relating to safety and systems, including providing advice to leaders on matters including site audits, inspections, H&S systems and incidents.

 

This position requires the application of contemporary knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards to effectively assess and interpret information, develop plans and presentations, support the H&S team and communicate effectively across the organisation.

 

The role will be based in Brisbane but may have occasional travel to regional areas as required for operational purposes.

 

Key accountabilities will include:

 

  • Supporting the H&S Team

  • Applying strong planning, coordination and attention to detail with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines

  • Maintaining H&S data integrity, lead & lag indicators by conducting analysis on safety and health data and compiling relevant reports assist in the risk management process, supporting risk assessment work as required

  • Maintaining management system integrity

  • Developing and maintaining a professional relationships and communication interfaces with all functional teams

  • Supporting other functional teams as required to ensure a successful result for Senex.

 

About You

 

You are results orientated individual, with a high level of attention to detail and strong administrative skills. You have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels.  You love systems and using data to drive positive outcomes for the team.

 

In addition, you will have:

 

  • Minimum Certificate 4 in Occupational Health and Safety

  • 3+ years previous experience in a CSG or Construction / Mining HSE position or equivalent related position.

  • Cert IV Workplace Training and Assessment qualification (desirable)

  • Internal Auditor qualification in either; Safety (AS/NZS 4801) or Quality (ISO AS/NZS 9001) (desirable)

  • Incident Investigation qualification (eg ICAM/TAPROOT or similar) (desirable)

  • Excellent written and presentation skills, with ability to adapt style and content of presentation for both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Have a positive attitude to face challenges and develop solutions that work towards big picture outcomes

  • Have a pro-active attitude and the ability to be innovative and use initiative when problem solving and decision making.
