The Opportunity 

 

The Senior Maintenance Engineer is a key member of the Operations team responsible for ensuring assets within Senex’s Surat Basin operations are maintained to compliance with all relevant Legislative and Senex requirements.

 

The role provides technical support and advanced troubleshooting techniques to frontline operations and is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, reliable and profitable operation of Senex’s assets. 

 

The key accountabilities of the position include:

 

  • Maintenance of the Senex operational static and rotating equipment, water infrastructure and irrigation systems ensuring safe, reliable and cost-effective performance
  • Developing specifications, procedures and training as required to support the wells, gathering, compression, water and surface equipment
  • Monitoring performance and relationships with engineering and labour providers for maintenance
  • Support efforts for operations with troubleshooting, rectification, surveillance and training for equipment.
  • Participate in reviews and audits of installed static and rotating equipment and systems to ensure installations meet relevant legislation and code requirements.
  • Ensure process safety critical systems are maintained and managed
  • Write scopes-of-work and management of maintenance contracts
  • Assist in managing and controlling work crews during shutdowns/project works
  • Conduct/support failure investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Assist Management of Change activities in the field
  • Ensure engineering documentation and information is maintained up to date
  • Ensuring the CMMS records are accurate and up to date
  • Ensuring critical equipment maintenance levels and spares requirements to maximise reliability


The incumbent will require the following qualifications, skills and competencies:

 

  • Bachelor Degree, preferred background Mechanical or Process/Chemical Engineering;
  • Minimum 10 years post graduate experience in Mechanical or Process/Chemical Engineering in an operational environment (Preferably CSG upstream)
  • Understanding and application of asset integrity maintenance strategies to typical CSG equipment and associated infrastructure
  • Proven experience of field equipment (Gas Engine Generators, Pumps, Valves, PSV’s, Vessels, Piping tanks) selection, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Proven project engineering delivery
  • Experience in commissioning of new/modified plant and interface with design and vendor representatives.
  • Must have a valid car driving license.
  • Ability to travel to site on a regular basis.
