Current Opportunity

 

Senex Energy is seeking an experienced Senior Policy Advisor to join our Government Relations team. This key role involves engaging with senior government, ministerial, and industry stakeholders to shape policies that support Senex’s business strategy and objectives.

 

This newly created role will see you providing an expert analysis of government policies and initiatives, assessing their impact, and developing strategic recommendations. With a focus on developing solutions to complex policy problems and influencing outcomes, this role is instrumental in ensuring a positive operating environment for Senex.

 

Key accountabilities will include:

 

  • Researching and analysing public policy issues relevant to Senex with a particular focus on reputational, economic, and financial impacts
  • Developing solutions to complex policy problems in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Preparing high quality written materials including public submissions, executive correspondence, briefing materials and presentations
  • Supporting Operations and Business Development teams in assessing policy impacts on company strategy.

 

About You

 

  • Tertiary qualification in political science, communications, commerce, economics, law, or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of Australian policy-making processes (energy sector knowledge is an advantage)
  • Experience in policy advisory roles, with a proven ability to conduct research and analyse complex issues
  • Exceptional writing skills, able to produce a range of high-quality materials such as reports, submissions, and briefings
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation abilities
  • High level of professionalism and personal integrity.
