Current Opportunity

 

Are you an analytical, detail-focused professional with experience in settlements? Join our team as a Settlements Analyst, responsible for monitoring and settling gas and energy transactions while ensuring accuracy and compliance in all processes.

 

Reporting to the Head of Financial Operations, you will oversee the timely recording of settlement information, working closely with front-office trading teams, middle-office functions, and external stakeholders. This role offers growing responsibility and an opportunity to enhance financial processes.

 

Key accountabilities will include:

 

  • Generating and updating monthly accruals for gas sales, purchases, tariffs, and associated services
  • Accurately enter settlement details in deal tracking and payment systems
  • Reconciling cash amounts and confirm settlement transactions with counterparties
  • Overseeing accounts receivable/payable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and payments
  • Monitoring collateral requirements, including AEMO prudential obligations
  • Assisting in transaction monitoring, dispute resolution, and contract compliance
  • Supporting the implementation of the Energy Trading Risk Management System (ETRMS).

 

About You

 

  • A tertiary degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Commerce is preferred
  • Previous background in settlements or financial operations, ideally within the energy sector
  • Strong numerical aptitude, keen attention to detail, and proficiency in advanced Excel
  • Familiarity with the Australian east coast energy market is advantageous but not essential
  • A proactive, independent thinker with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
