Current Opportunity
Senex is undergoing a digital transformation to maximize the potential of our systems, technology, and data. This includes significant sustainment and new projects across our technology domain involving infrastructure, Cloud/SaaS/PaaS, end-user computing, remote site technology, and cybersecurity uplift.
We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Digital team and provide timely and efficient support to the Senex business. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the technical implementation and support of the Senex technology solutions, ensuring a robust and stable technology environment to support our business needs.
Key accountabilities will include:
Technology Support and Service Enablement:
- Supporting and managing back-office infrastructure to ensure availability of critical systems
- Collaborating with vendors and service providers to deliver expected service levels
- Providing Level 2/3 support or direction to the Senex helpdesk and outsourcing partners
- Managing and supporting the configuration of Azure Cloud, Entra ID, and Microsoft Intune packaging
- Providing direct support of communications infrastructure and recommend cost reductions or service enhancements.
- Working closely with senior systems engineer and service delivery (EUC) team members, with occasional travel required to central Queensland field operations.
Technology Project Enablement:
- Creating system designs, handover documentation, and project artefacts
- Installing, supporting, and maintaining Digital Infrastructure as required
- Maintaining best practice technology standards, procedures, and documentation
- Contributing to technical solution designs to meet business and cybersecurity requirements.
Partner with Application, Cyber, and Delivery Teams:
- Assisting internal Digital support teams in resolving incidents
- Identifying potential problems and advise on remediation solutions
- Assisting in the implementation of Digital migrations and integration assets.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT Services, Helpdesk, or internal ICT team
- Relevant qualifications in IT or a related discipline (preferred, not mandatory)
- Strong technical background in end-user computing technologies
- Experience with the design, implementation and support of IT systems
- Sound knowledge and experience with configuration and support of:
- Microsoft Windows, Active Directory
- Microsoft Azure, Entra ID
- Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online)
- Microsoft Endpoint Manager and Intune
- Microsoft Defender endpoint and cloud security
- Azure App Proxy & SAML/SSO authentication
- Microsoft SQL Server and database management
- WAN design and support
- Communications infrastructure (eg Cisco Meraki equipment)
- Hands-on experience with network and security device support and configuration
- Strong customer service orientation and interest in supporting technology needs across the business
- Strong documentation, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Understanding of IT Service Management processes (IT Incident and Change Management).
