Senex is currently seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join the team. Based out of Wandoan and working a 15/13 roster, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems that power and protect our CSG infrastructure. Local residents are encouraged to apply, but we also offer flexible FIFO or DIDO arrangements.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Performing preventative and reactive maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of systems and equipment including generators, VSDs, RTUs, transmitters, radios, pumps, and metering devices
- Supporting installation, calibration, fault finding, diagnostics, and testing of electrical, instrumentation, and communications systems
- Assisting with risk assessments, SOP development, and ensuring compliance with PTW, LOTO, and weed hygiene protocols
- Collaborating with the Projects Team on commissioning and start-up of new systems
- Coordinating contractors and working closely with our Brisbane-based IE&C Engineer to ensure HSE compliance
- Maintaining and inspecting Ex Rated Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA), particularly Ex n for well sites.
About You
You’re a qualified and experienced technician with:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in upstream Oil and Gas operations and maintenance.
- QLD Electrical Licence and Cert III in Instrumentation & Control.
- Cert IV in Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA).
- Experience with PLCs, VSDs, and fault finding in control circuits.
- Familiarity with Permit to Work systems.
- Desirable: High Risk Work Licence (EWP), gas-powered generator experience, Cert III in Process Plant Operations.
