Current Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Gas Plant Operator Maintainer, preferably with Jenbacher power generation experience, to join our Surat Basin based compression assets. This is a hands‑on operational role, critical to the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of our compression and power generation facilities.
Working on a 15/13 roster, you’ll be responsible for operating key plant and equipment, maintaining production reliability, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Key accountabilities will include:

Operating and maintaining critical plant and equipment including HV electric driven compressors, TEG dehydration units, Jenbacher generators, flare systems, and associated auxiliary plant

Carrying out planned and unplanned maintenance, including fault finding, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and rectification

Performing daily operations, plant start‑ups and shutdowns, annual CFTs, and support project and shutdown activities

Monitoring and analysing production and performance data through control systems to optimise throughput, reliability, and energy efficiency

Responding to equipment failures and breakdowns to restore functionality and support production targets

Collaborating with engineering and operations teams to implement system upgrades, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives

Participating in the after‑hours call‑out roster for urgent faults and breakdowns
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in gas processing or power generation operations

Demonstrated experience with daily operations, startups and shutdowns, CFTs, and project‑related activities

Strong working knowledge of CSG gas processing equipment and systems and power generation
-
Proven experience operating and maintaining reciprocating engines, rotating equipment, control systems, and auxiliary plant

Solid technical understanding of compressors, electric drive prime movers, TEG dehydration processes, and gas engines
-
Ideally (reframe wording) would have Jenbacher Generator experience , oe equivalent.

Experience with HV switching activities is desirable but not essential

Certificate III in Process Plant Operations is desirable but not essential

Mechanical or electrical background (e.g. mechanic with generator experience, or electrician with strong engine and tuning knowledge) is desirable but not essential

Gas Test Atmospheres Certificate desirable

A strong safety focus, problem‑solving mindset, and ability to work autonomously in a remote operational environment.
